Crown Fountain

Jaume Plensa

2004

Crown Fountain is a favorite in Chicago's Millennium Park. Jaume Plensa created these two 50-foot glass brick towers that face each other across a reflecting pool. The towers themselves display faces of Chicago citizens. This references gargoyles that are created with their mouths open to allow water to spill out. The fountains operate between spring and fall and the faces are displayed year-round.
