Untitled Sounding Sculpture

Harry Bertoia

1975

The Untitled Sounding Sculpture is an abstract piece inspired by swaying wheat in fields in nature. Henry Bertoia's inspiration also came from a mythological Aeolian harp activated by wind. The different heights of the brass and copper rods are hit with wind and create different frequencies from the vibrations.
